This past Sunday at church, the theme of the message was Self Evaluation and how it ties in with the Christian faith. In 2 Corinthians 13:5, it says, “Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.” With all the sinful temptations that are going on in this world, it is very easy for us to get off track with our Christian faith. That’s why it is vital for us to do a self examination; we have to check ourselves from time to time. Whenever your involved in a relationship with your significant other, at times, you have to do an evaluation of the relationship you are involved in. You may ask questions such as this: Is this going anywhere, what are we doing right, what do we need to improve on and where is this taking us? Well, those same questions apply when it comes to our faith! It’s easy for us to go through the motions, especially when it comes to being a Christian; I’m definitely a victim of it. Our Self Evaluation is like our check up at the doctor’s office: We go in to see if anything is wrong. If so, the doctor tells us how to cure it before the problem worsens. That same thing goes for us; we must go to God for our Self Evaluation. If we do that, we are likely to maintain a healthy Christian faith.
